  • need some answers here

Hi! My friends, I got some questions here about University of Cambridge, I hope my British friends can help me out.

QUESTION NO.1: Which college in Cambrige is the best-known in Cambridge?

QUESTION NO.2: Which college is the best one on Engineering?

So far, I only have two questions. It is so hard for me to google them out. I tried but fail. I dont know what proper key words I should choose. I guess maybe it is much easy for British people figuring out. Thank you very much.

P.S.: God bless everyone has a wonderful weekends. Thx a lot again.

  • Just got back from USA

Finally, after 30 hours (including waiting my flight in New York), I arrived at Shanghai. The whole trip is kind of horriffying, cuz of the swine flu. It is weird that America is the worst part on the earth with swine flu so far, however, there was no body wore mask in the airport, even during through the secure entrance gate, none of the personnel cares about your temperature. I guess, maybe most of Americans believe in God so that they are very confident (or over assertive) about the protection from God.

Based on the CCTV (Chinese main media), it seems like UK is in the good situation. Hopefully, it cannot worsen back to the Sars time.

    Good luck, everyone!

  • NBA: OKC Thunder vs. S.A. Spurs

This is the last second home game for Oklahoma City Thunder. Our university bought 100 tickets for us which is just 5 bucks each on sale. Surprisingly, American students, at least in my university, dont have passion on such world-American-known basketball game. On the constrast, most of International students are pretty high. (Also weirdly, i didnt see lots European Students on the ticket waiting line, either. Anyway, seems like they are always out of the life here).

At 7:00pm, we got to the the Oklahoma City Ford Center. After parking which was the most troublesome thing, we finally sat in the basketball arena. Gosh, that is the hugest basketball arena i have ever seen, it made me recall the field of the Quidditch World Cup.

The game was pretty cool, even though OKC Thunder lose at the end.

The most awesome thing for me was Tim Dunkon was just playing right in front of me (in about 15 meters).

The mascot of Oklahoma City Thunder is a brown buffalo. it doesnt make any sense for me. I still think Oklahoma City Wind or Oklahoma City Tornado is more suited to the environment here.

After we got back on campus, it was so hard for us to calm down. Then we decided to watch a American-British movie -- "Great Street Hooligans". Its almost telling some bloody stories about a bunch of soccer gangsters in Great Britain. Although its very violent, we were still totally grabbed by the strong end.

btw, I attach some NBA live pics in my Media.

P.S.: After reading this blog, please leave some British slangs. Thx!

  • Medieval Fair (or Faire)

Hey, guys! Long time no see since i signed up this blog. how are yo doing?

Today is the last day of Annual Medieval Fair which is host right next to OU (Oklahoma State University). i, finally, decided to see a bit with bunch energetic Americans.

    Pretty shinny outside.

i had no idea before i went. For me, a Chinese teenager, Medieval means nothing. Still till now, i was wondering does the May Flower incident happen in Medieval times or not? if so, that makes more sense to me that why American are so excited about this stuff.

it was so crowded. lots of Americans they put on some very weird dress. some of them just looked like the people who showed up in the Pirate of Caribbean Sea.(my favorite movie).

But the most awesome guy i had seen in this fair was an old man who imitated perfectly like Gandalf in "Lord of the Rings". i attached our pics in my photoes, believe or not, check it out.

Over all, it is my first time to approach European culture (kind of, i know that is so fake), i got shock a lots.

i hope someday i can pay a visit on UK or Norway or Sweden, to experience in person..... (maybe this coming fall break).

P.S.: btw, I have a little request, if you can complete reading my article(i know it may be crappy. but please forgive me im not English Native user, i know Chinese a bit more), please leave some very oral or common British slangs, which are seldom or never used in USA. I would love to taste some original English.

    Thank you very much!

    yo have a nice day!
